Omaha Campout May 16-18, 2003 On Friday, Troop 186 left at 2:00 from school to meet in the K-Mart parking lot. It took over three hours to drive to the Air and Space Museum. When we got to the museum, we put all of our things on the benches and floors at the entrance. Then we went to the theater and listened to a group of Air force people, and watched a slide show. Then we went and took a tour of some of the planes that they had in the museum. Next we built balsawood airplanes and flew them. We had a competition to see who could fly their airplane the farthest, and Jack K. and Spencer T. won. For a prize, they both got to have space ice cream. After that we found out which plane that we were going to sleep in, and had free time to go on the flight simulator and fly our airplanes. Then we went to bed. The next morning we got up at 6:00 and packed up and ate breakfast. Then we
went to the Omaha zoo. At the zoo we went to the jungle section, the desert
area, and creatures of the night, bears, moneys, orangutans, small mammals, and
the aviary. Then we went back to the campsite and had free time. During that
time we caught a lot of toads. Then we ate dinner, and went to bed. The next
morning we got up packed our bags and left to go home. |
