Safety Issues
-
NO SCOUT WILL BE ALLOWED TO BRING A GUN OF ANY
TYPE.
-
ONLY PARENTS CAN BRING A GUN.
THERE WILL BE 20 gauge SHOTGUNS AVAILABLE FOR YOU TO SHOOT IF YOU DO NOT
HAVE ONE.
-
NO SCOUT WILL SHOOT WITHOUT A
SHOOTING PERMISSION SLIP.
-
PARENTS
THAT BRING A GUN MUST KEEP IT LOCKED UP.
-
DO
NOT GIVE ANY SCOUT A GUN UNLESS YOU ARE WITH HIM AT ALL TIMES.
-
ALL GUNS ARE THE
RESPONSIBILITY OF THEIR OWNERS.
-
Trigger locks are highly recommended.
What to bring
This
is an opportunity for all scouts to shoot both a shotgun and a rifle. They MUST
have a signed SHOOTING PERMISSION SLIP to shoot shotgun or rifle. Scouts need to
bring the shells, bullets and targets they want to shoot. DON’T
FORGET YOUR SAFETY EQUIPMENT. It
is mandatory that all scouts attend the
Safety class (at LUMC on Saturday Feb 13th during normal scout
meeting).
Scouts that would like to work toward their Shotgun Merit Badges must
attend the class to complete the prerequisites. Scouts should review the
appropriate Merit Badge book prior to the 2/13/06 training. 500 rounds
of 22 shells sounds like a lot, but they go fast and only cost around $10.00.
All Scouts
- Your personal items, Boy Scout Book.
- Patrol food, camping and cooking supplies, and tents.
- Bring your class “A” uniform for advancement.
- Everything you have to STAY WARM. In previous years it has gotten down to 10 degrees and snowed.
- Parent participation is encouraged.
- A Campout Permission Slip signed by a parent.
- A Shooting Permission Slip signed by a parent.

- Physical ability to shoot 25 rounds twice. (ouch)
- Must hit 24 out of 50 targets.
- Attend safety class (at LUMC on Feb 13th during the scout
meeting)
- There will be 20 gauge shotguns available if you need a shotgun.
- Parent participation is encouraged.

We
will be camping at Mike Motta’s farm. The farm is 6 miles south of Louisburg
(335th street) and 4 miles east.
